Last night they had a big parade celebrating the anniversary of a famous taoist temple here in Kuching. I tried to photograph the dragon dancers, but this detail of one of the decorated trucks is the only image I like.

We arrived in Kuching (Malaysian Borneo) yesterday and are slowly trying to adapt to the heat and the different timezone. I hope I can post some pictures in the next few days.
At the suggestion of Markus Schaden I made a booklet out of my Pelikan series using a rather complicated (for me) folding structure. As a result you can create your own 3-image-spreads. At first I was afraid that this might be nothing but a gimmick, but it actually works quite well. Don’t ask me how many pages I wasted printing! You get an idea how it works in this short video:

Today I sent the book (my only copy!) off to Kassel for the Fotobook Festival Dummy Award 2012.
This image was made last Sunday while waiting on a somewhat delayed plane at Charles de Gaulle Airport to get back to Hamburg.

Atún tostadas and cangrejo tostadas at La Condesa. Wow! Amazing food, super friendly and professional staff and a great happy hour. Killer margaritas, too.

It’s an „Alma Blanca“, one of their signature drinks, made with crushed sweet corn, habanero tequila, and a rose and hibiscus infused salt rim. Wow again!

Ego’s on South Congress is our favorite Austin dive bar. They make a really good White Russian!
